Andrew Lerwill uses a 'fadometer' to test a pigment from the paintbox of Britains' most famous artist, J.M.W. Turner.
The pigment is Prussian blue and Andrew's working to find better ways of displaying Turner's works in galleries.
Just a few minutes under the fadometer's intense light simulates years of display under normal art gallery conditions.
Andrew works between the Tate Gallery in London and Nottingham Trent University. |
