Ted Cocking wants to change the way cereals are grown.
He's working to find a way to make cereals fix their own nitrogen from the air (in the way that legumes do) rather than fertilizers.
That would mean an end to environmentally harmful farming practices and change the way we grow food!
Ted also has some interesting views on the ability of scientists to move from "basic research" to applying their findings in the real world.
