"How to become a professor in eight easy steps"

Well, maybe not quite.

Three Test Tube regulars were among the staff at the University of Nottingham to be promoted at the end of 2008.

They were Cameron Alexander, Pete Licence and Dave Scott.

I thought I'd use their happy occasion as an excuse to learn a little more about how the whole university hierachy works, and how it is decided who becomes a professor and who does not!!!
