It's the moment of truth for Prudence Mutowo!

After three years of work, she goes through a three-hour "viva" examination to decide if she will be given her PhD.

While she's grilled in an office at the University of Nottingham, her supervisor Dr Dave Scott nervously waits in a nearby building.

If she's successful, Prudence will be Dave's first successful PhD student.
