Brady Haran and astronomer Amanda Bauer travelled to Ningbo for the total solar eclipse on 22 July 2009. They viewed it from the University of Nottingham's campus in the Chinese city.

This video features some extra footage and clips not used in the main film recorded for our "sister site" Sixty Symbols, including non-scientist Brady's explanation of the eclipse delivered as bit of a rehearsal.
